Saleha Qureshi, LMFT
Saleha Qureshi has a double Master’s in Human Development and Family Studies and graduated from the University of Connecticut. She has been a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist since the past six years. She is bilingual and fluent in Hindi and Urdu.
Her prior work experience includes working as an outpatient substance abuse counselor at Wheeler Clinic, Hartford. At Wheeler, she gained experience working with court-mandated clients for specific issues such as anger management, relapse prevention and domestic violenceShe has been in private practice since the last five years and has a specialized training in couples counseling that is based on the theoretical model developed by John and Julie Gottman.
She also sees adults aged 18 and older for anxiety, depression and mood disorders. She recently completed the requirements for basic training in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). EMDR is currently recognized as a very effective approach in the treatment of trauma.
Saleha has a therapeutic style that is very direct yet warm, compassionate, respectful and attentive to her client’s needs and wants. She uses a strength based solution focused approach that includes a focus on mindfulness, self-compassion and self-care.
