Sherri O'Shea, LCSW, IMH-E® (III)
Sherri O’Shea received her Master’s Degree in Social Work from Syracuse University in 2004 and has been endorsed by the CT Infant Mental Health Association as an Infant Mental Health Specialist since 2015. She has worked in the field of mental health with adults, children and families for over 15 years.
Her practice has a specialized focus on anxiety, depression, grief, infant/child mental health, parenting issues, and perinatal mood and anxiety disorders. She is also certified in reflective supervision/consultation and provides this service to other professionals in the field.
Her experience and specialized training include Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Mindfulness, Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders, Perinatal Loss & Grief, ARC Trauma Treatment for Children and Adolescents, Circle of Security Parenting and Reflective Supervision/Consultation.
Her prior work experience includes providing outpatient psychotherapy to children and families, providing mental health services to pregnant and postpartum women and their families and acting as supervisor of community-based maternal and child health programs. She completed her internship in an inpatient children’s psychiatric hospital and worked as a research associate at SUNY Upstate Medical University.
Her practice is dedicated to providing psychoeducation, support and compassionate guidance to adults and children. It is her goal to create a genuine connection with each client and join them on their journey to living their best life.
Her style is one that is empathetic, strength-based and patient. She believes that it is courageous to reach out to a professional for help and no issue is too small or large.
